DIY pearl necklace using Briolette beads

Are you getting ready for Valentine's day? Today I am sharing a simple DIY necklace that would be a perfect gift to make for your valentine not only for Valentine's day but for any day as a gift. If you are just starting with jewelry making then this DIY necklace is perfect beginner project for you to learn the basics of making a necklace. Let's see how.

How to make a necklace using pearls and briolette beads

Material Used :
Jewelry wire
Lobster Clasp
Jump ring
Necklace Extender
Crimp beads
Pliers
Scissors

Step 1: Measure and cut the jewelry wire for approximately 20". String a crimp bead and a lobster clasp. String the end back again into the crimp bead and pull it tight. Use the pliers to crimp the bead to secure it in place.

Step 2: String the beads as desired through the wire and make sure the small wire poking at the end goes through the beads.

Step 3: Once you have strung the beads in the way you like, finish the other end of the necklace. When you reach the end, string a crimp bead, a jump ring and string back again into the crimp bead and into the first or second bead as shown in the picture.Pull the loose end of the wire to make it tight.Use pliers to crimp the bead into its place. Trim the remaining wire using scissors. Add an extender to the jump ring using pliers. Now, the beautiful necklace is complete.

How easy was that? The necklace I made is around 15" so I took 20" of jewelry wire in the starting. When it comes to making a necklace I would suggest always cut a few inches more than you think you need to complete the necklace. I have shown you how to make a simple and basic necklace. You can modify it according to your taste. You can do two rows of pearls and add the briolette beads only to the second row (This design will be great if the pearls are in the smaller size compared to the ones I have used here). You can use eye pins to add extra touches to the necklace. A lot of variations can be done.

The freshwater pearl beads I have used here look more organic looking and each one is different. So, I would suggest you order one or more extra packs if you want a uniform look. I really love how the briolette beads look along with the pearls. What you think of this necklace? Share with me in the comments below. As always I would love to hear from you.
