3 ways to bring your digital photos to real life

Nowadays taking photo has become one of the default thing in everyday life .We take at least one photo a day to update our Instagram feed or you might have a lot of photos from your vacation trip. Do you want to leave them as just digital photos??Oh!!No.I always wanted to cherish memories. So,let's bring them to real world by making beautiful fridge magnets. Shall we start ?

Cork magnets :

Materials required :
Cork board
Colour prints of photos
Mod podge
Scissors
Foam brush
Magnets
Glue

Step 1: Cut the cork board to the size of photo.Apply mod podge to the cork board and paste the photo.Let it dry.
I would recommend you to buy a cork board which comes flat rather than the one which comes in roll with less thickness. Because I found it little difficult to flatten the pieces however in the end I did it by keeping the pieces in between two heavy books.:P
Step 2: Apply a top coat to seal the photo in place. I used a color print of photos in a normal printer paper. You can also use photo paper to print the photos.
Step 3: Attach magnets at the back using glue.Voila!!! now you have a beautiful cork magnets. You can use washi tape to decorate the corners .I used Krylon gold leaf paint pen to add a gold frame to one of the magnets.(Oh ya!!I am obsessed with gold color).

Magnetic sheets fridge magnets :

Material required :
Magnetic sheets
Colour prints of photos
Mod podge
Scissors
Foam brush

I came up with this idea because I had two or more of magnetic sheets visiting cards lying simply on the doors of our metal wardrobe. Some random store card and a library hours card. For two of us , I thought one sheet is enough for library hours reference and so I reused the other.
If you don't have any magnetic sheets to reuse , you can get them at any craft store or big box stores.

Step 1: Cut the photo to the size of the magnetic sheet or vice versa.Apply mod podge on the magnetic sheet and paste the photo.Let it dry.
Step 2: Apply a top coat to seal it.Once it is dry, your magnet is ready to go on to fridge. How simple is that ?
You can also get sticker sheets and print your photo directly on to it and the paste it on the magnetic sheet to make this kind of magnets.

3D Glass fridge magnets :

Materials Required :
3D glass
Colour prints of photos
Mod podge
Scissors
Foam brush
Disc magnets - 6
Glue

I have been collecting these 3D glasses after the movies (No shame !!! :P You are all my friends and you all know that we pay for those glasses too ).Don't ask me the reason.:P I seriously don't know but you don't say that you don't have these glasses at home.Even if you don't have, you might probably have some kids glasses lying around your garage.Don't have any , go get some pretty glasses in dollar stores.I am sure these will make a cool magnets, if not you can make a cool decor with these photo glasses. You can stack 2 or 3 above a stack of books to make a cool decor with your vacation photos. How cool ?? (Lots of "Cool",ya I can sense the fall ,don't you ?? ).

Step 1: Remove the two temples by carefully twisting them. If you are using a glass with hinge and screws, use a small screw driver to unscrew and remove the temples.

Step 2: Cut the photos to fit in the frame of the glasses.Apply Mod podge and paste them.Let it dry. Don't worry if you get mod podge all over the frame, use a q-tip and wipe it off.

Step 3: Apply a top coat to seal it in place.Glue the magnets .I used a stack of three magnets each on left and right glasses.I glued each magnet with the other.Hot glue did not work for me so I used super glue to glue the magnets. And , that's it !! How cool is that B-) photo glasses ??

Hope you would enjoyed the process of making beautiful fridge magnets. Will you make any of these??Which one do you like the most ??Feel free to share your comments below or write to vikalpah@gmail.com.
