Cricket themed birthday decor DIY

Brainstorming ideas for a cricket fan's birthday? You have come to the right place. My eight-year-old son has become obsessed with cricket lately, so I created a minimalist cricket-themed decor for his special day using items I already had at home. Let's see how I put together cricket-themed birthday decor using my XTool M1 Ultra

Materials used:

Cardstock in Black, Brown, and Red

Birthday banner (Use any you already have or DIY a simple one using black and white cardstock)

Black and red Sharpie

Step 1: Find the cricket-themed clipart for free by doing a simple Google search. Import the images into the XCS software. You can trace the image and make the cut file, or use the Offset option if you just need just the outline.

Step 2: Copy the trace image onto the canvas and cut it using a fine blade. Make sure you select cardstock as your material.

As mentioned in the above steps, I cut the stumps, cricket bat, and the cricket player silhouette. For the cricket ball, I used the shape tool and created two different sizes of circles and then used a White acrylic marker to add stitches similar to the real cricket ball

Used a black Sharpie marker to detail like "MRF" cricket bat and handle checks on the bat. Used nano tape to stick the cardstock pieces on the backdrop and banner. For spiral silver hanging, you can cut any lightweight color paper in a spiral pattern , Here, I used the spiral hanging I already had.

I hope this post gave you an idea of how to add some cricket elements to the cricket themed birthday decor. Do check the Xtool website for all the cool laser machines. ,

If you are a homeschooling parent, you need to check Xtool Education to learn how laser cutters can be used to transform abstract concepts into tangible solutions, such as designing functional prototypes, engineering mechanical models, creating art, and enhancing learning across multiple subjects with tech tools, such as STEAM and maker education.
